Hooray! My sockapaloooza socks arrived!
My sockapal is Ms. Pixie Purls herself, making her second set of sox ever, out of Trekking!
She also sent me some fantastic stitch markers:
and some more Trekking!
Thanks, sockapal!!!!

And in knitting news, here's the CARdigan almost finished (thank goodness):
I'm actually more than halfway done with the second sleeve at this point. I screwed up the graph I made of the car on its back end, but it still looks like a car, so I have left it. This sweater has more mistakes in it than I've ever left in before:
1. One side front is 2 stitches wider than the other. Absorbed into armhole.
2. Dropped a stitch on the side front at some point. Absorbed into button band.
3. Somewhere in the body before the armhole, I turned around and have an inadvertent short row. Oh well.
Otherwise it is going great. The sleeve is a little long but looks SUPER cute on Alec -- it bunches up just a little and looks like a football varsity jacket! Also the shaping on the crew collar worked really well -- I started it by picking up the collar 6 stitches in on either side, and then picking up an additional set on each row, it looks just like a curved varsity jacket collar! More pix when it is done. Pattern is based on Ann Budd's measurements (4 sts/in) but I knit it in the round and took out the sleeve cap shaping. And made up the ends of the sleeves. And the collar. And, you know, the chart.
Found cute traffic light buttons. Can't wait!
In the meantime, started a little stuffed elephant from Last Minute Knitted Gifts for my coworker's new baby boy. Here's some limbs:

I'm doing it in the round as much as possible so I don't have to seam. Yarn is Rowan Cashsoft Aran.
What am I listening to? Glad you asked. My new favorite thing: Pandora. Check it out! Thank you, music genome project! My current station is built on Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon mostly. But I have a "Hey Ya" station too for when I'm rockin' out more.
Red rain coming down all over me
